Website Content or Links?
This is a great posting by the GoogleWebmasterHelp Team answering a questions - Which is more important: content or links? Content is king and as a site user you are in FULL CONTROL to add content about your business services and products. When it comes down to links, you can sit back and hope that your audience will link to your sites or work with a SEO provider to ensure more links created and pointing to your website JSWeb CommentsI totally agree, the best link you can get is a natural link pointing to you, because your website has information that is unique and informative. The common problem with e-commerce sites is that they're out to sell something and make a profit, so they just won't normally have that sort of information on their website. Compare it to Wikipedia which has thousands of natural links due to the originality of it's content. As part of any SEO campaign we will certainly get the ball rolling when it comes to links but to really get to position one for competitive keywords you need those natural one-way links also. Think about what you sell from outside the box. If for instance you're selling pet products and one area you specialise in is anti-flea and tick medication for cats and dogs, how about compiling a resources section which includes scientific and medical information on fleas and ticks, and how they can or cannot be passed to humans.
